Laurel’s School of Healthcare 16-month Cardiovascular Technology program gives students basic skills to perform non-invasive testing to provide valuable recorded data for cardiac evaluation.

If you’re interested in cardiovascular technology, it’s likely that you have a knack for problem-solving — such as identifying an underlying issue or problem — and that you are skilled at interpreting complex data. You are interested in the inner-workings of the heart and have compassion for others. You are also very tech-savvy, great at multi-tasking, and communicate well with teammates.

Students in Laurel’s Cardiovascular Technology program will learn cardiac sonography/echo procedures, perform diagnostic testing, and learn administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by the physician.

Graduates can work with medical professionals in cardiac catheterization laboratories, cardiac surgery, electrocardiography/stress laboratories, or echocardiography departments.
