Laurel’s Clinical Medical Assistant program offers two learning approaches. Now offered online, this program allows students the opportunity to complete theory work online and clinical skills in our on-grounds labs.

Skills Development:

Taking medical histories
Recording vital signs
Administering injections
Assisting with primary physical exams
Providing patient education
Assisting in collection and analysis of laboratory specimens

Through Laurel’s 12-month hybrid diploma program, individuals can gain the knowledge needed to take on a key role in ensuring patients receive high-quality medical care. Clinical Medical Assistants are in demand because of their ability to provide a valuable combination of clinical and administrative skills while working under the supervision of a physician.

After graduation, students will be prepared to take certification tests for National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) and phlebotomy certifications – both of which improve your skill set as well as your career opportunities.
