Clinical Medical Assistant

Laurel’s Clinical Medical Assistant program offers two learning approaches. Now offered online, this program allows students the opportunity to complete theory work online and clinical skills in our on-grounds labs.

Skills Development:

Taking medical histories
Recording vital signs
Administering injections
Assisting with primary physical exams
Providing patient education
Assisting in collection and analysis of laboratory specimens

Whether working in a medical office or hospital, the role of a Clinical Medical Assistant offers a highly rewarding career path. Through Laurel’s 12-month hybrid diploma program, individuals can gain the knowledge needed to take on a key role in ensuring patients receive high-quality medical care. Clinical Medical Assistants are in demand because of their ability to provide a valuable combination of clinical and administrative skills while working under the supervision of a physician.

After graduation, students will be prepared to take certification tests for National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) and phlebotomy certifications – both of which improve your skill set as well as your career opportunities.
