Laurel’s Hair Styling program teaches students the latest trends in haircutting, coloring and design for men, women and children as well as master hair texture concepts to create the perfect haircut or style.

This 8 month, clock-hour program is designed to train students in both theory and practical experience.

After completion of 1,000 hours of instruction AND successful completion of the 8-month Hairstyling program, all graduates must take and pass the licensure examination through the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists in order to practice in the state of West Virginia. The exam consists of a written portion and a practical portion. All classes prepare our students to take and to pass the exam; a mock state board exam is available to the student prior to the actual exam.

A potential student wanting to enroll in the WV Cosmetology program will not be permitted to enter any class for study or be given credit for any work done in the school prior to the time his or her permit has been received from the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists. Some programs may require relocation, licensure, and/or certification for employment in some positions.
