From the beginning of your educational experience, through graduation and beyond, Career Services is here to help you every step of the way!

Our goals are simple:

  • to help you learn about careers and occupations
  • to begin the process of finding employment before graduation
  • to provide one-on-one job search assistance
  • to assist in resume and cover letter writing techniques
  • to provide interview preparation
  • to help with networking skills
  • to help increase your soft skills

Career Services recognizes the need for career development even after graduation, and thus promotes a greater awareness within the institution regarding the importance of developing professional interests and competencies and exploring future career possibilities.

Our Career Services team provides advice and support to students, but cannot guarantee job placement.

Remember, there is never a fee for Career Services for students, graduates, or employers.  All services are provided free of charge, always!

What is the Premier Employer Partnership?

Laurel’s Premier Employer Partnership leverages support from local employers to furnish students with financial resources to obtain their degree.

Participating businesses and organizations play a key role during every step in the process, providing career guidance, meaningful workplace experience and the opportunity to start working immediately following graduation. Employers benefit by developing a pipeline of local students who are trained in a relevant degree program and are engaged in both their workplace and their city or town.

This Premier Employer Partnership at Laurel offers a, no-cost, program that gives employers the opportunity to help train and shape the workforce that will move their industry forward, and help keep their local communities vibrant.

Whether you’re a current student or a graduate,

local employers and Laurel is mutually beneficial for all:

Internships

Many programs at Laurel require an internship or clinical rotation, and hands-on experience is extremely valuable to our students. By accepting interns, employers are able to assist in the training of students, increasing the industry standards and ensuring that each new group of students is well prepared to enter the workforce.

Job Orders

We strongly encourage employers to reach out to their Career Services Administrator (CSA) whenever they have an open position. CSA’s have personal relationships with all Laurel grads, and with the assistance of lead instructors, can determine the candidates that best meet the needs of the employer.

Project Based Assistance

With our focus on hands-on learning, employers are encouraged to reach out to Laurel with projects that may provide additional experience for students. Projects can be incorporated into course work, and students can provide the assistance you may need without having to hire temporary workers. If you have an upcoming project, please contact your CSA to see how we can help each other.

Annual Job Fairs

Each campus at Laurel holds a yearly job fair to allow employers a chance to meet and screen Laurel students and alumni. This private event is always free to employers and students, and provides opportunities for employers to create relationships with students early in their careers. Contact Career Services if you would like to be included in our job fair mailing list.
