Accreditation and Licenses
Laurel is dedicated to providing career-focused education and professional certifications for individuals seeking employment in various careers in response to the needs of the regional employer community.
We are proudly accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Accreditation is a form of quality control, ensuring that institutions of higher education satisfy certain standards. To ensure we always meet those standards, Laurel is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of License Schools.
Laurel is permitted to offer programs through the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education; Laurel Technical Institute is Registered with the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools (No. 08-07-1870T (Hermitage). Laurel is also approved to participate in NC-Sara through the PA Department of Education. We have programmatic accreditation through CoARC for our Respiratory Therapy program.
Laurel Business Institute (LBI) is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
Laurel Technical Institute (LTI) is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
Laurel College of Technology (LCOT) is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
- Laurel Business Institute and Laurel Technical Institute (Pennsylvania) are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of Private License Schools to award certificates, diplomas, and specialized associate degrees; and by The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of the State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs to operate a cosmetology school.
- Laurel Technical Institute is registered with the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools: No. 08-07-1870T (Sharon) No. 14-07- 2048T (Meadville). (Any time we mention Ohio, we have to include these numbers)
- Laurel College of Technology (West Virginia) is licensed by the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education to operate an occupation school and to confer degrees within the State of West Virginia; and by the State of West Virginia, Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists to offer cosmetology programs.
The ADN (Associate Degree of Nursing) program at Laurel College of Technology at the Morgantown campus, located in Morgantown, WV is accredited by the: Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), ACEN – 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326 – (404) 975-5000. The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the ADN nursing program is accredited.
