Before you even graduate from high school, Laurel has an offer that can open up opportunities and pave the way to getting your Associate in Specialized Business or an Associate in Specialized Technology degree. The Dual Enrollment Program at Laurel is a great way to start! We have proven hands-on programs in Accounting & Business, Early Childhood Education, Allied Health and Information Technology.
Our staff and instructors are top-notch experienced, supportive professionals with the right blend of classroom know-how and real-world experience. If you’re a qualified junior or senior, you can take advantage of our High School Dual Enrollment Program. It’s a great way to get a jump start on your studies and explore careers you might like.
Basic Program Requirements
The way it works is simple. You take courses at Laurel for credit in your high school curriculum for up to six credits per semester. If you decide to enroll with us after high school, you’ll earn credit for the classes you took while you were here.
Best of all, we waive 100% of your tuition. Your only costs are for books, equipment, supplies, and optional certifications.
You must
- Be in either your junior or senior year at high school
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Enroll for up to six credits per semester (maximum)
- Be recommended and approved by your school administration
- Have the written consent of your parents or guardians and provide your own transportation
- Have completed or be in the process of completing your high school graduation requirements
- Your high school will agree to release time for you to attend classes at Laurel.
- Your high school, you, your parents or guardians and Laurel must sign a dual enrollment agreement.
- Attend the Laurel orientation
- Meet LBI/LTI’s standards for admission, attendance, dress and conduct as outlined in the LBI/LTI catalog
- Attend each class at Laurel and at the high school as scheduled.
